Urgh, Passover. A full week of matzoh sandwiches and macaroons. “Yay.”
Three seders this year, because we are being over-familied: Sunday in CT with Adam’s parents (I will have Ashley’s for the second time in 10 days and as my last hurrah before the fast, yay), Monday at my aunt & uncle’s in Long Island along with 50 others (that one is always pretty fun), and Monday in Brooklyn at my house. At least we’ll get some leftovers out of it!
On a completely separate note, I had a totes religious archaeological experience yesterday. John Hale is my new favorite speaker… he rivals Mike Parker Pearson. What a nice guy. He spoke about the chemistry behind the Delphic Oracle myth. The man found two intersecting geological fault lines under the Temple of Apollo at Delphi which emit trance-inducing gasses! What the hell! I was floored.
So I’m currently working from the Duane Reade on 86th while Adam sees the doctor. His asthma has been pretty bad; let’s hope it’s nothing big. Telecommuting is the bomb-diggity.
Dinner with Nicole and Bryan tonight. :) And I’m pretty sure that Barnard acceptees will get their letters today (that includes my sister–fingers are crossed)! I’ve already written one entry for the Barnard Admissions Beat.
o0… and I am going to be in charge of a new, GUI-based redesign of the Barnard Store Web site. Thinking about chronicling the design process here–more to come soon!
